Job Description

We seek passionate, innovative educators to join as founding faculty members of Catalyst, Menlo's new Applied Leadership Semester program. This exciting and immersive program empowers juniors to develop leadership skills while tackling complex global challenges through an integrated, experiential, and interdisciplinary curriculum. Throughout our inaugural year, we will focus on case studies related to climate resilience and adaptation, combining rigorous academics with real-world problem-solving in partnership with Bay Area leaders and organizations. Catalyst enrolls 15-18 students each semester, spanning levels 3 through Advanced Topics. We are currently in need of a .25 FTE Spanish teacher to support a small group of Spanish language students each semester. Job Responsibilities: + Lead classroom-based instruction for a small group of Spanish-language students (<8-10) approximately 3x/week for 60 minutes per class each semester. Classes will generally meet at the same time and same days of the week, and all will take place during school hours (8:45 AM - 3:00 PM). + Differentiate instruction towards more than one level in the room. During the 2025-2026 academic year, students will be grouped within Advanced Topics Spanish and Spanish 4 in the fall semester, and Spanish 3 and 4 in the spring semester. + Support students to stay on track with their reading, writing, and oral proficiency skills in the target language. Curriculum in each target level will be provided, but educators are encouraged to adapt curriculum as needed to serve each student, and, if possible, and to align with Catalyst's themes. + Assess student proficiency and regularly provide updates on student progress to collaborating teachers at Menlo and Catalyst's Director. + Communicate student outcomes to parents/guardians through informal touchpoints and formal grading periods quarterly. + Participate in ongoing professional development as coordinated by the Director of the Catalyst program. Pay range: In the spirit of pay transparency we share the base salary range for this position for the 2025-2026 academic year. Our Faculty have a wide range of experience. We have teachers who are relatively new to the profession and those who have expertly taught for over 30 years. The full pay range, which encompasses all experience levels is $95,506 - $181,896. Within this broad range, we pay each Faculty member in accordance with what could be reasonably expected based on an individual's experience level. Base salary is exclusive of fringe benefits, retirement plan employer contributions or potential stipends (for eligible employees). Pay ranges at Menlo are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at Menlo School, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as skills, education, experience, job level, part-time status and number of months of work per academic year. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the generous range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical for Menlo School in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Job ID: 325
