An established, family-owned office solutions company is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their team! The Accounting Assistant will work closely with the Accounting Managers to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department and accurate financial reporting.

Salary + Benefits:

• $50,000-$55,000 DOE

Location: Houston, TX 77041 - onsite
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to help management make informed financial decisions.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies, and assist in audits as needed.
• Continuously identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Proven leadership abilities and a proactive mindset
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
