Responsibilities:
Oversee tax planning processes to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations.
Lead month-end close processes, including preparation and review of income tax provisions, effective tax rates, tax balances, and related disclosures.
Develop and implement strategic tax planning for federal and state taxes.
Manage tax team members in the preparation of U.S. federal income tax returns and state tax filings.
Review and ensure the accuracy of tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
Coordinate and manage tax audits to ensure timely and effective resolution.
Maintain tax balances on the general ledger.
Regularly prepare and update tax documentation and handle related information requests.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and changes in tax law to ensure the firm's tax strategy remains optimal and compliant.
Collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to ensure all financial operations align with legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required.
At least 5 years of experience in a tax manager role or public accounting experience.
Strong understanding of tax codes, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
Experience with U.S. federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements.
Proven ability to drive process improvements in tax operations.
Proficient with financial and tax software (ERP systems).
Excellent client service skills and a proven ability to foster long-term client relationships.
Strong leadership and management skills.
High attention to detail with strong analytical abilities.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
