The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.
Position Summary/Details:
This position is responsible for assisting the Solar department in the daily operation and maintenance activities for the solar and energy storge sites and support the engineering team in tracking of effective inspection, monitoring, environmental compliance, and preventative maintenance programs.
Accountabilities: As a successful candidate for our Co-Op/Alternate—Solar & Energy Storage Engineering, you would perform the following.
Physical Location of Co-op: Solar Operations Center 405 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd. Plant City FL 33563-5215
Working Conditions: The Solar & Energy Storage Engineering Co-Op can expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Working conditions are both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The level of stress varies depending on workload and company deadlines.
Physical Demands Requirement : Must be able to work in dusty and hot environments. Must be able to ascend and descend from ladders and stairs. Walking (sometimes on uneven surfaces), bending, and driving as needed.
Preferred Availability: Full-time (40 hours)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university or college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
Co-Op Requirements:
Currently pursuing an Electrical Engineering Degree
Year in School : Junior or Senior
