Position Description | Position Summary The Arizona Department of Administrations Risk Management Division is seeking an Temporary Intermediate Claims Adjuster to manage a diverse portfolio of claims. You will be responsible for the full life cycle of claims ranging from minor incidents to large cases involving significant financial exposure. Your expertise will span auto accidents property damage personal injury liability claims and more. This role requires a combination of analytical skills independent judgment and effective communication. If you have a strong background in claims handling and a dedication to mitigating risk this opportunity offers a chance to make a real impact in safeguarding the States interests. Duties Investigate coverage liability and damage exposure potentially including site visits and statewide travel Collaborate with agency representatives legal counsel and other stakeholders Manage claim files ensuring proper documentation coding and adherence to regulations Prepare settlement authorizations Participate in interviews mediations arbitrations and other legal proceedings as needed Travel to the downtown Phoenix area may be required on an asneeded infrequent basis (typically 12 times per year). |
Skills Required | Claims best practices guidelines Insurance claims processing Negotiations and alternate dispute resolution (ADR) Types of insurance contracts and related law Administrative policies practices and procedures Insurance and/or risk management information systems Excellent judgment and decisionmaking skills Excellent research investigative and analytical skills Effective communication both orally and in writing |
Skills Preferred | Learn understand and apply Arizona Revised Statutes and Arizona Administrative Code Proficiency in Google Suite |
Experience Required | 12 years adjusting auto accident property damage personal injury and liability claims |
