Company Overview Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label charcoal, manufactured fire logs, fire building products, matches and toothpicks. In addition, the Company also manufactures railroad cross ties, which strengthens our relationship with our suppliers in the charcoal business. Position Summary The Power BI Developer will design, develop, and manage advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets tailored to business needs. This individual will build optimized data models (star/snowflake schemas) using Power BI and integrate with diverse data sources (SQL, Azure, Excel, APIs, etc.) . The Power BI Developer will lead BI projects from requirements gathering to deployment, working with cross-functional teams.
Position Responsibilities - Design, develop, and manage advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets tailored to business needs.
- Build optimized data models (star/snowflake schemas) using Power BI and integrate with diverse data sources (SQL, Azure, Excel, APIs, etc.).
- Lead BI projects from requirements gathering to deployment, working with cross-functional teams.
- Perform data analysis, profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure high data quality and reliability.
- Implement row-level security (RLS), DAX calculations, and performance tuning of Power BI reports.
- As a Power BI Developer, you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand KPIs and deliver actionable, user-friendly visualizations.
- Establish best practices for Power BI governance, including workspaces, version control, and data refresh strategies.
- Comfortable in a small / lean team environment* 5+ years of experience in data analytics/business intelligence, with 3+ years focused on Power BI development
Position Requirements - Experience using Power BI, including creating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations from scratch.
- Experience with Power BI gateways, dataflows, and enterprise-level deployment strategies.
- Experience in SSRS development.
- Experience developing reports using Transact Structured Query Language (T-SQL).
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and relational databases (SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, etc.).
- Writing ad-hoc SQL queries to support the operational needs of an organization.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and Power BI Service.
- Experience working with integrated data from ERP systems, e.g., D365 F&O, SAP, Oracle.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to work closely with business and technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to analyze complex datasets and design intuitive, impactful dashboards.

- Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
