We're seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Drafter to join our innovative Research & Development team in Buffalo, NY. This role is crucial in creating detailed 3D models and drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, contributing to our 40-year legacy of manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities• Develop complex 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks (or Fusion 360/Inventor)
• Manage material assignments, part numbers, and hardware in models
• Collaborate with engineering team on design changes and maintain change logs
• Assist in prototype assembly and create exploded views for documentation
• Lead small projects independently, demonstrating problem-solving skills
• Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
• Utilize ERP software for efficient project management
• 4+ years experience with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Inventor
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hardware and measuring tools
• Proficiency in creating BOMs and technical documentation
• Experience with ERP software (preferred)
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Associate degree in related field (preferred)
• Manufacturing or R&D environment experience (preferred)
