We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer I to support a state-owned building in Sacramento and provide oversight on a wide variety of projects for our Facilities Management Division (FMD).

As a Chief Engineer I you will be responsible for:

• Understanding the mechanical features of high-rise buildings
• Supervising the work of maintenance and building repairs of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, and mechanical controls
• Ensuring that major projects performed on the building are properly planned, executed, and closed out in accordance with standard DGS policies
• Assisting with the Building Automated Control System implementation
• Approving designs, calculating costs, negotiating contracts, assisting with SOW/project cost sheets.
• Tracking preventative maintenance using Maximo software
• Assigning work orders and service request according to priority to engineering staff
• Ensuring that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building infrastructure.
• Alerting management of building discrepancies

This position may be required to obtain an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Technician Certificate.

Pay: $6,519.00 - $8,252.00 per month
