Job Summary: In developing the infrastructure for a robust program that supports the health and well-being of our clinical workforce (physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, etc.), the Biostatistician is a critical team member supporting the Clinician Resiliency & Well-Being (CRW) department. Reporting to the Director of Operations for Clinician Resiliency & Well-Being, the Biostatistician is responsible for tracking, analyzing and reporting key performance indicators and outcomes that (1) are leveraged to inform strategic priorities, (2) illuminate degrees of correlation between outcomes, and (3) help to evaluate the efficacy and statistical significance of various initiatives. The Biostatistician works collaboratively with members of the CRW team to develop front-end methodology to assess impact. (S)He will have clear understanding of initiatives related to physician and nursing well-being. (S)He will develop and maintain a comprehensive CRW dashboard, pulling data from a variety of sources. (S)He is responsible for using statistical methods to interpret data sets, identifying trends and patterns, and developing easily-digestible visual and written reports that can be distributed regularly to the Director of Operations and other Wellstar stakeholders. The Biostatistician is closely involved in projects longitudinally both quality improvement and translational research initiatives. (S)He uses knowledge of advanced statistical methods to help team members and researchers plan initiatives using strong methodology, make course-corrections midstream in response to data trends, and evaluate outcomes, post-hoc.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Analytics1. Uses statistical tools/programs provided by Wellstar Health System2. Analyzes multi-source data trends using a variety of statistical approaches3. Performs analyses of small and large data sets4. Identifies high-risk clinicians/groups across various well-being indicators (e.g. excessive pajama time; electronic health record inefficiency; etc.)5. Performs other statistical analyses as neededInterpretation & Reporting1. Interprets statistical findings related to priority initiatives/aims2. Escalates findings suggestive of risk or concern to specific clinicians (or groups) via proactive analyses3. Provides a consistent cadence of reporting to the Director of Operations, Chief Behavioral Health Officer, and other executive stakeholders4. Provides on-time summaries of analyses to other CRW team members5. Allocates time to the review and discussion of data analyses with team members to ensure understanding and appropriate next steps6. Prepares articles for CRW newsletters7. Presents statistical findings at departmental, facility, or system-level meetingsDevelopment of Methodology & Process1. Participates in the design and planning of all new CRW initiatives/projects2. Reviews literature and advises on empirical support for recommended initiatives3. Advises CRW team members in methods to optimize process as pertaining to the demonstration of outcomes4. Works with team members to establish (and/or modify) data extraction and storage processes5. Consults with team members regarding the cadence and frequency of surveys and other means of data collection6. Develops databases to track data longitudinally7. Constructs high-level and detailed CRW dashboardsResearch & Collaboration1. Collaborates with CRW team members in development of scholarly articles2. Is engaged with collaborators at other institutions to help develop a network of aligned researchers investigating topics related to clinician well-being and burnout3. Provides research mentoring for CRW post-doctoral fellows, psychology fellows, and Medical ResidentsPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education: - Masters Public Health or Masters Biostatistics or Doctorate Biostatistics-Preferred

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 3 years years post-Masters degree in applied biostatistics Required orMinimum 1 year post- Doctorate Required Required Minimum Skills:
Strong data and analytical abilities;action-oriented;knowledge of research methodology;knowledge and application of advanced statistical methods (e.g., statistical regression);attention to detail;clear and effective communication (both verbal and written);ability to plan and align;ability to collaborate across groups while also driving results;adept at Lean processes that reduce waste;technology savvy; and presentation abilities.Further, the Biostatistician is able to discern when efficient and high-level analyses are required vs. situations that call for more detailed and methodical approaches.
