Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. This role's primary focus will be managing accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and credit cards and assisting with the monthly close process, along with other general accounting duties. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy in financial documentation.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable (AP): Process invoices, prepare and execute payments, maintain vendor files, and handle discrepancies.
• Accounts Receivable (AR): Issue invoices, monitor overdue payments, record and manage receipts.
• Credit Card Management: Reconcile statements, process and code transactions, and monitor policy compliance.
• Monthly Close Process: Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheets, and support financial statement preparation.
• General Accounting: Prepare audit schedules, perform bank reconciliations, maintain financial records, assist budgeting, and provide clerical support.
• Administrative Support to CFO: Manage calendar, schedule meetings, handle travel and expense reports, and assist with special projects.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2-3 years of accounting experience in a business environment
• Proficiency in accounting software; Intacct and expense management familiarity advantageous
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for analysis and reporting
• Understanding of general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes
• Familiarity with financial reporting and analysis
